Completely exhilarating spending time with so many lovely families under the beautiful acorn tree. Thanks to it's protective folage, we managed to stay largely dry. Well done all for braving the weather, thanks for all the lovely snacks to share. There was a lovely community feel amongst children of all ages and grown ups too. So many sweet moments... Thank you tattoo lady as well, many happy customers... Looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Wednesday 31st July 12 noon

Thanks for all of you who came and/or donated. We were very lucky to have many dads and other family members joining us too. We were cold but happy walking around Oak Hill Park in East Barnet, ending up on the grass with lunch and picnics. Many an interesting, deep and light discussion took place, kids played happily. See you again for the next one in 2020! We have run our second very successful toddler meeting of the year last Monday 15th April. We have a lovely side room in the Red Lion Barnet pub, in a quiet spot of the day, with no disturbances, and a door to close to keep little ones inside.
We all bring toys to amuse our children, and order drinks and snacks from the bar. It is not expected to order, but a nice gesture towards the pub offering this free venue to us. We have great discussions regarding toddler matters: weaning, sleep, solids and fertility, as well as gentle parenting (loving guidance). Some of us stay for lunch and a park play afterwards! Please join us next time if you can. (Our Meeting information page will let you know our next date scheduled.) We celebrated with some yummy cakes, food and drinks, a tattoo salon for kids, toys, activities and music. But most of all, lovely breastfeeding mamas from all the way across our 5 years' of history. Some emotional reunions. Visiting Leader from St Albans. Here to at least another 5!
We all had a really nice time!
The weather was kind to us, and there was such a great turnout, we ended up staying for about 6 hours between the first family turning up and the last leaving. Beyond the fun and food, we also ran a 'mini meeting', as we had a couple of mums in real need of the mother to mother support our lovely group mums are always so generously offer! Keep your eyes peeled for the next social occasion for LLL Barnet. :-) |
